Thanks for visiting with me today. You landed here so you could learn more about me. So, let’s get started.
I’m Emily the creator and author behind emilybknight.com. Crafting is my therapy, my stress relief. It’s how relax. I call it Creative Therapy.
I’m a 40 something single Christian gal from western Kentucky. I’m a real live coal miner’s daughter. My father worked his entire career in the coal mining industry. I am a former middle school math teacher turned bookkeeper. I attended the University of Kentucky to complete my Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education. I also have a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education. I left the education field due to the amount of stress an anxiety it caused (long story won’t bore you with the details). I work a full-time job as the administrative clerk (bookkeeper) for my local conservation district. Basically, I work with farmers. I believe in buying local and the importance of handmade.
I have four fur babies.
My hobbies and interests include stamping (of course), painting (acrylic & watercolor), crafting, cooking, reading (suspense, thriller, mystery, etc), piano (since 3rd grade), singing (at church), gardening (my dad and I have a high tunnel we got through the USDA), and stamping (Did I said that already? lol). I joined Stampin’ Up in November 2016. The main reason I joined was to take advantage of the 20% discount demonstrators receive.
2017 started with the end of a four and a half year relationship. This major life change brought with it financial struggles. In November 2017, I decided to get serious about the Stampin’ Up opportunity and start my own business.
My main goal is to share with others how stamping and crafting can be Creative Therapy. The resulting creations can be used to bless others. Who doesn’t love a handmade card with a personal handwritten note? And, what good are the cards we make if we don’t send them to anyone.
I’m just getting started with my business. Thanks for your understanding as I being to develop a blog schedule and design my website. Thanks for visiting. Come back anytime.
